Rockies 11, Mets 3

I attended the Mets/Rockies game last night with a couple of my co-workers. We had pretty good seats: grand stands, upper deck behind homeplate. It was a pretty fun ballgame to watch. The Mets sent minor league call-up Jason Vargas to the slaughter; 9 runs in 3 and 1/3 isn’t going to make for a nice ERA, but I sure enjoyed all the offense. We witnessed three homers including a grand salami from Ryan Spilborghs.

It was a great night for a game; cool and breezy, with just a small bit of foothills visible from our seats. After the game, we watched the fireworks display over left-center; it was pretty sweet! I’ve never watched fireworks with 30,000 people before. Anyway, if you want more info about my first Rockies game since moving out to CO, here’s ESPN’s summary.

  1. Sounds like a sweet game, too bad the rockies don’t have the blake street bombers any more, though!
