Free Foreign Language Lessons Online!!

Praise God for StumbleUpon, without which I would never have found a lot of really cool stuff (I’ve been meaning to give some links), but today I found the pièce de résistance: Mango Languages! They’re testing out language learning software (so it probably has some bugs), but it’s FREE! The lessons themselves are super repetitive, but that’s how you learn to speak different languages. You can go at your own pace, repeat an entire phrase or just a part of it, and get both the functional and literal definitions. There are 100 lessons available per language. I did lesson one for French and Russian; it was great.

There are some bothersome aspects , but not many. You do have to provide an email address, but really it’s like getting CDs and a book from the store but cheaper and better. So, if you’ve got a few minutes, why not pick up a little French, German, Spanish, Portugese, or Russian?

I’m really geeking out about this!!

  1. That’s really cool. 100 lessons?! Are they going to close it down any time soon? I assume they will after they’re done testing…
